Although this piece suggests the frothy movement of the ocean coming toward the shore, ultimately this piece is both soothing and calming, and is visually at peace.

As a base, I covered the canvas very generously with plaster, and spread it with a textured roller. This process creates all these lovely lines and inconsistencies which reflect the dynamism of water. I then achieved all of those soft tones by layering both wood stain, acrylic ink, and acrylic paint, embracing a lovely blend of browns and greens and blues.
