A subtle and delicate interplay between color that is revealed versus color that is in the process of being revealed.

I began by staining the canvas in a light golden wash, followed by covering the entire surface with a modest coat of plaster. Before it dried thoroughly, I rolled a textured paint roller over the tacky plaster creating an uneven pattern. That surface was then covered in layers of acrylic paint and the final step involved applying a thin layer of taupe stain to the upper part of the canvas. This created two distinct but complimentary fields of color. The final result is a fabric-like surface with a relaxed and calming mood.
