A beautifully stylized, balanced, and abstracted interpretation of the energy of fire.
I created a bright base by applying layers of a copper stain. This was followed by covering the entire surface with a thin layer of plaster. I then scrubbed away at the tactile and textured surface until hints of the radiant base were exposed. This piece shows the weight of color, and the curious beauty of a visually contrasted composition.
